Yasuhiro SAKUMA has currently been responsible for promotion of Demand-side Response and Virtual Power Plant technologies using power from distributed energy resources in electricity market in Japan since August 2017. He has been involved in energy efficiency and renewable energy policies for about 10 years in Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan with various experiences in international affairs cooperation. He worked at Renewable Energy Division, International Energy Agency (IEA) for 3 years, 2014 to 2017, as a desk officer of Technology Collaboration Programme on renewable energy technologies. He also worked at SRPING Singapore in 2009 to organise the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.
